Austria is far more interesting historically and in my experience Austrians are friendlier in the sense that they want to know more about foreigners and their cultures. Most Swiss don't care because people from all over the world go to Switzerland for financial reasons. I have been to both countries and found Switzerland very boring. The landscapes are nice but you can find the same ones in Austria. Geneva is a dull capital made of tedious rows of luxury stores.
On the other hand, Vienna is very exciting with its gorgeous palaces and art museums!
Both countries are equally safe.

Austria is a much more interesting and friendly country. I once read in a novel that Switzerland is a corporation run by accountants and bankers, not a country. That's an overstatement, but there is a little truth in it. The Swiss tend to be stiff and rather xenophobic. The Austrians are definitely friendlier and more relaxed.
I do like both countries to travel in, but in Switzerland I don't like the cities much, just the countryside.

Just wanted to say that Morgane08 is right about Austria I totally agree and she gave a wonderful answer. But I'd just like to say that Geneva isn't the capital of Switzerland, it's Bern!

Both countries are very beautiful and I think everyone want to stay their , But in manner of job I think Switzerland is best .

That depends what for . They are both beautiful Countries but if it's for work I say Switzeland. Or if you are touring I think Switzeand has the edge for beauty
